The Asian Pacific Filmmakers Experience wrapped up AANHPI Heritage Month at CAAMFest 2024, with over 75 filmmakers, industry experts, community leaders and arts organizers gathered together to celebrate the filmmakers at CAAMFest 2024! Co-hosted with local lead partner, the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM), and with delicious food from local caterer EATS BY E, the festive event was held at Four One Nine Gallery in San Francisco on Mother’s Day Sunday.

Opening remarks were made by APFE Organizers David Magdael and Minji Chang, CAAM Executive Director Stephen Gong, and Pacific Islanders in Communications Board Member Tavae Samuelu.

A longtime co-organizer of APFE events dating from the inaugural edition at Park City, Utah in 2002, CAAM’s hosting of the APFE party in San Francisco continues a tradition of supporting and foregrounding cinematic artists of Asian Pacific descent at film festivals throughout the nation. Thank you to the CAAM staff in attendance, including Stephen Gong, Sapana Sakya, Jonathan Hsieh, Ris Tena, Mey Saechao, and Frances Pomperada!

AANHPI Heritage Month started off with a full house as the Asian Pacific Filmmakers Experience celebrated at the 40^th Edition of the VC Film Fest (formerly known as the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival) in Downtown Los Angeles. Over 200 filmmakers, industry execs, community advocates, and supporters convened at the renewed Peking Tavern to connect and network.
